Company officials say retail outlet will be relocated to Woodinville, Wash., in 2018

Panther Creek Cellars closed its tasting room in Dundee last month and will be relocating it to Woodinville, Wash., according to the company’s website.

The new tasting room is expected to open in early 2018, but the website does note that Panther Creek will host some pop-up tastings in Oregon.

“We want to thank everyone for the support and patronage during our four years in Dundee,” the website posting stated. “We made many friends and so enjoyed sharing our wine with you.”

Panther Creek was founded by Ken Wright in 1986, but was sold twice, in 1994 and 2005, before it was acquired by Bacchus Capital Management, a private equity firm, in 2013.

Bacchus brought on Tony Rynders, who had gained notoriety as head winemaker at Domaine Serene Winery/Rockblock Cellars for 10 years, as consulting winemaker.

Panther Creek focuses on pinot noir, pinot gris and chardonnay, while producing both blends and single vineyard designate wines.

Bacchus also features Dundee’s Dobbes Family Estate in its portfolio of wineries, as well as DeLille Cellars, which is also located in Woodinville. According to the Bacchus website, Panther Creek produces 7,500 cases annually.

Wines are still available for purchase on the company website, www.panthercreekcellars.com.
